Miras Pastel Handmade Oud – Movingui & Pommela
The Miras Pastel brings together Movingui and Pommela in a handmade oud with a distinctive combination of woods. Built by Miras, it features both woods in the bowl and neck, complemented by a Canadian cedar soundboard, snakewood fingerboard, ebony tuning pegs, and a bone nut.
With a 58.5 cm scale length and a 35 cm bowl width, the Pastel is an instrument for oud players who appreciate the materials and craftsmanship behind what they play.
Movingui & Pommela Bowl and Neck
The Pastel’s defining feature is the combination of Movingui and Pommela. These are not alternative wood options: both are used together in the instrument’s construction.
The pairing extends from the bowl to the neck, making it central to the model’s design rather than a detail found in just one part of the oud.
Canadian Cedar Soundboard & Snakewood Fingerboard
A Canadian cedar soundboard completes the front of the instrument, while snakewood is used for the fingerboard. Ebony tuning pegs and a bone nut round out a material selection that extends beyond the two woods of the bowl.
For players comparing handmade ouds, these details offer a closer understanding of how the Miras Pastel is put together—from its body and neck to the playing surface and fittings.
