I purchased this instrument buzuk about 2 months ago. I play it almost every day, it is too much fun. This particular buzuq is sub-par, I ultimately do not recommend that you purchase it.

The good:
- If you are experienced/once you get good, the sound quality is surprisingly good for the pricepoint
- Comes with extra strings, two picks, and a carrying case

The bad:
- At the highest point of the neck/fingerboard Buzuqs can usually hit a G two octaves above the middle string course G, the last note you can get from the neck on this one stops at (a slightly flat) F#
- There are way too many frets for the size of this instrument. This is challenging because there are more frets/notes than you realistically need. After removing 4 or 5 frets it began to look and play like my friends' buzuqs. I still have access to all of the quarter tones I need for arabic playing but not the ones I don't.
- The tuning pegs are inconsistent. Some of them work as intended always, a few of them spin in place instead of tuning the string half of the time
- The bridge is cheap/bad quality. The strings sometimes fall out of their slots in the bridge and at the very bottom (near the tuning pegs) of the finger board
- The strings bursting: I am mortified to tune my buzuq because I've had a string from each course pop (so 3 strings total) during NORMAL tuning. These were the strings that it came with, and I was tuning slightly sharper since the string had gotten a little flat.
- Paint job has some blemishes (not a big deal, just saying)

Overall, if this is your first buzuq it is okay to get to learn on. Even then there are better options, but it isn't entirely dysfunctional. Coming from guitar, I had the basic mechanics of playing buzuq down but it took me some time to realize these nuances. If the 10 day return window had not elapsed by the time I had a full assessment of this instrument, I would probably have returned it.
